SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
325kms from Nairobi
Kuyle says: "There are three National Reserves together; Samburu National Reserve 161 sq km , Shaba National Reserve 239 sq km ,and Buffalo Springs National Reserve 131 sq km making it the smallest of the three Reserves, its my favorite reserve and the reason is ,it’s the cooking pot of all Wildlife. The ecological setting is grassland mixed with Acacia woodland. Because of its vast richness of wildlife it makes it easy to see lots of wildlife and this will include some of the rare animals that are only found on the Northern side of the country ; i.e. Gazelle Giraffe, the rear Somali Ostrich, the Gravy Zebra ,the Reticulated Giraffe etc. These animals that you don’t see on the South of the country apart from the Giraffe Gazelle make Samburu National Reserve my favorite Reserve."
